  22nd july 1985.. man killed in blast.

  at sydney service.. from richard yallop in melbourne.. one man was killed and 70 people were taken to hospital after a bomb exploded yesterday during a jehovah's witnesses service in a kingdom hall in the sydney suburb of lurnea.. the explosion occurred close to the speaker's dais just as mr. david winder, a visiting elder from the sydney suburb of prospect, had begun his address on loyalty to god and the family.

  I used to know an Elder who would scoff at the lack of faith the ancient israelites had because they would tie a sash around the waist of the high priest when he went into the holiest of holies. Their reasoning was that if anything like a heart attack or stoke happened to him in there they could just pull him out again by the sash.

  The Elder I knew scoffed because he reckoned Jehovah would never let anything like that happen to one of his servants whilst he was serving him like that...

  I guess that Elder never heard about this Bomb!

  The Guardian. 22nd July 1985. MAN KILLED IN BLAST AT SYDNEY SERVICE. From Richard Yallop in Melbourne. One man was killed and 70 people were taken to hospital after a bomb exploded yesterday during a Jehovah's Witnesses service in a Kingdom Hall in the Sydney suburb of Lurnea. The explosion occurred close to the speaker's dais just as Mr. David Winder, a visiting elder from the Sydney suburb of Prospect, had begun his address on loyalty to God and the family. Mr. Winder, aged 39, was blown through the roof * of the building, receiving multiple fractures and injuries. Police did not release the name of the dead man, who was sitting in the front row. He is believed to be a father of three. His wife was also injured in the blast, but their three children escaped unhurt. More than 100 people attended the service. The explosion destroyed half the building, and tore a hole in the aluminium roof. Thirteen of the 70 people taken to hospital were still there last night and the condition of two adults and one three-month-old baby was said to be serious. Some of the injured refused blood transfusion because of their religious beliefs. Police have no idea of the motive for the bombing, nor has any group claimed responsibility, but it is thought to have been caused by a former member of the congregation with a grudge.

  Geez, what those Elders will do to make their talks memorable!

  ... it was a threaded gas cap, yellow, about one and a half inches in diameter.

  also clearly visible was bright metal around the flats of the hexagonal cap.

  bright metal that showed the marks of a recently applied wrench....... .

  g'day rude people,

  some of you are just now learning what long-suffering older posters have known all along i can be very annoying!

  my rising paranoia tells me enemies are setting up all around ... golf keeps whacking me with his #12 iron, the elders keep threatening to take me to the backroom, and even the mild mannered caveman comes out to kick me in the go-nuts

  leigh park is a massive housing complex owned by portsmouth city council.

  it houses those who cant afford their own homes by offering subsidised rents.

  Letting go...a letter to my brother

  dear friends and fellow sojourners,.

  as i posted sometime back, i have been grappling with my last fear from the wtbts--that is, saying good-bye to my mother and brother who are still in the organization by revealing that not only have i left but am now what they consider an apostate.

  it has come to me, that i must do this to be finally free of the last vestiges of "hold" that the organization still has on me.

  if anyone was reading a post of mine a few months back, i posted that i was doing a course and some exams for work and that the announcement was made shortly after i started the course that i was being made redundant.

  well... tomorrow is my last day!!!

  (or to be precise last half day as we're all going to the pub at lunch time and i wont be returning) .

  Why wouldn't they reinstate them?

  i am just thinking about all those df over issues which are now notorious for flip flopping.. when the wt has to change on the 607 thing - that is coming up i am sure - will those who disagreed with 607 be reinstated without further ado?.

  does anybody know of people df for taking transplants who are reinstated now after the flop, or would it be a flip?.

  when the now obviously imploding blood policy finally changes, how likely are those shunned for having a transfusion to be forgiven without them being the ones who have to grovel to the reptiles in brothel?.

  I doubt it will happen even if those DF'd were proven to be right all along.

  The official line will be that those ones showed a rebellious spirit and ran ahead of the organisation. Their crime will be that they ignored the word of the slave class.

  I still think it stinks though
